Excitement Continues as Kalamazoo Speedway Approaches Close of 2005 Season

(KALAMAZOO, Mich) August 29, 2005- With a month left in the 2005 racing schedule, the
action heats up at Kalamazoo Speedway with the continuation of the NASCAR
Dodge 4-in-1 Weekly Racing Series, as well as enduros, school bus races,
spectator drags and more. The final race of the season is the popular
three-day Super Shoe Nationals event. Here's how the season will wrap up:

 

*	September 3 - VROA Coupes Race, plus, a full night of NASCAR Dodge
4-in-1 Weekly Racing Series with Super Late Models, Limited Late Models,
Sport Stocks and Pure Stocks. Adults $10 and children $5. Gates open at 4
p.m., practice starts at 5 p.m., races start at 7 p.m. 

 

*	September 4 - Watch as 200 cars start from a dead stop - all on the
track at one time - going 200 laps for a $5000 prize in the 4-Cylinder
Enduro. This is one of the highest paying 4-Cylinder races in the nation. It
will be quite a spectacle. Also on the schedule - a Rollover Contest and
Powder Puff Race. Adults $15 and children $5. Gates open at 4 p.m., practice
starts at 5 p.m., races start at 6 p.m.

 

*	September 10 - Season Championship Night: a full night of NASCAR
Dodge 4-in-1 Weekly Racing Series with Super Late Models, Limited Late
Models, Sport Stocks and Pure Stocks plus a 100-lap Super Late Model
$5000-to-win race. Adults $15, children $5. Gates open at 4 p.m., practice
starts at 5 p.m., races start at 7 p.m. (Check out www.kalamazoospeedway.com

*	September 24 - Night of Destruction featuring a Four Cylinder
Enduro, School Bus Races, Monster Truck, Spectator Drags, Jet Car and so
much more. The evening ends with fireworks! Adults $15, children $5. Gates
open at 4 p.m. and the fun begins at 6 p.m.

 

*	September 30-October 2 - Super Shoe Nationals: With more than 275
cars racing to be the best, this is the final race of the 2005 season. With
more than 600 camper units on site, Kalamazoo Speedway becomes one of the
largest campgrounds in Michigan during the week. Free on September 30th; $10
for adults and $5 for children on October 1; $12 for adults and $2 for
children on October 2. Gates open at 4 p.m., practice starts at 5 p.m.,
races start at 7 p.m.

Kalamazoo Speedway, located just south of "D" Avenue on Ravine Road, is
Michigan's only NASCAR sanctioned short track. At 3/8-mile, it is also the
fastest oval track of its size in the world. Opened in 1950, the track has
been under the ownership of the Howe family since the 2001 season. For more
