GEICO Responds to Hurricane Katrina Hardships by Suspending Billing, Cancellation Notices

WASHINGTON, Aug. 29, 2005 -- In recognition of the disruption and hardship a hurricane of this magnitude can bring about, GEICO has immediately suspended mailing activities, including billing and cancellation notices, for policyholders in the areas that have been most affected by Hurricane Katrina as it moved throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

GEICO is broadcasting its 1-800-841-3000 number on local radio and TV stations so residents can get in immediate contact with the company's 24-hour claims teams in their local areas.

Residents can also report claims on GEICO's web site, http://www.geico.com/.
