Aberdeen Group Names DHL and MCA Customer Tellabs a Leader in Strategic Service Management; Third Analyst Firm in Three Months to Recognize MCA Solutions

PHILADELPHIA--Aug. 2, 20055, 2005--Aberdeen Group recently recognized Tellabs, Inc., a supplier of wireless and wireline solutions for telecommunications service providers, as a leader in strategic service management. Tellabs was selected from more than 50 nominations, and is featured in Aberdeen Group's new report: "Best Practices in Strategic Service Management: Integrating the Service Chain to Drive Profits and Competitive Advantage."

In the report, Aberdeen Group looks at the top companies and their solution provider partners that are successfully transforming post-sales service from a tactical cost center to a strategic profit center.

Tellabs tapped DHL and MCA's hosted solution to improve its spare parts operations and meet its customers' demanding service-level agreements (2 to 8-hour turnaround). After a two-month implementation, MCA and DHL reduced Tellabs' service parts inventory by 60 percent, saving the company approximately $5 million.

MCA Solutions' Service Planning and Optimization (SPO(TM)) suite provides Tellabs with inventory forecasts, contract coverage analysis, and recommendations on how to effectively stock spare parts to meet customer needs. With its SAP certification, MCA's SPO solution easily integrated with Tellabs' existing SAP ERP system.

With its global network of more than 350 parts depots, and a sophisticated transportation and communication infrastructure to support it, DHL handles the warehousing, transportation, and logistics of Tellabs service business.
