FEV Sponsors Engine Dynamics Workshop
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., Aug. 25, 2005 -- FEV Engine Technology will participate in an engine dynamics simulation software workshop on Tuesday, August 30, 2005 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The event is being conducted by MSC Software and FEV is an event sponsor.
Discussion of new features in the latest release of "MSC.ADAMS/Engine powered by FEV" will focus on improvements in solution speed and integration for complete engine simulation.
Workshop participants will step through design exercises with the professionals who developed the software and simulation techniques. Also, FEV technical specialists will lead a session titled "Valvetrain Simulation Process & Applications" during a working lunch.
FEV formed a strategic partnership with MSC for co-development and support of the template-based simulation software in 2000. The 2005 version provides tools for cranktrain, timing drive, valvetrain, piston dynamics, and full engine simulation. Engine developers and suppliers worldwide rely on the ADAMS/Engine tool kit to design engine systems and quickly evaluate how design changes impact complete engine behavior.
"Development of more efficient powerplants is a continuing focus for automakers as fuel consumption concerns make daily headlines," says Brian Campbell, manager of computer-aided engineering (CAE) for FEV.
"Automakers offer a multitude of engines to satisfy their customers' varying needs, from power and performance to fuel economy," says Campbell. "The new demand for hybrids and the incredible resurgence in popularity of the Hemi engine illustrates this point precisely. FEV believes that ADAMS/Engine powered by FEV is the best available tool for optimizing the performance of engine dynamic systems to meet customers' expectations for today's engines and vehicles."
