FLOCK LEADS WESTERN MIDGETS TO STOCKTON
AUGUST 22, 2005
Robby Flock of Murrieta, Calif. hopes to take the next step
toward a fifth USAC Western Midget title this Saturday at Stockton (Calif.)
99 Speedway when the series joins the Western Sprints for a USAC
"doubleheader."
A 50-lap Midget race is on tap as Flock leads runner-up Jerome
Rodela by 75 points.
Flock earned his 50th career victory at Bakersfield, Calif.
early this season and has scored nine "top-10" finishes in the last 11
series events. Rodela, the 2004 series runner-up, has yet to win this year
despite three "podium" finishes.
Saturday's race is the first for USAC Midgets at Stockton
since J.J. Yeley's victory there in 2003 and serves as a tune-up for the
100-lap "Fred Gerhardt Classic" slated at the track Sept. 11.
