CASCAR: Peterborough races postponed to Sunday by rain
PETERBOROUGH, ON - Just minutes into the CASCAR PowerWater Series 100 lap
race at Peterborough Speedway on Saturday night, rain started to fall on
the 1/3-mile oval. After it was determined that the precipitation would
continue in the region for several hours, CASCAR officials made the
decision to push the remainder of the event schedule until Sunday.
Spectator gates for the finale of the CASCAR PowerWater Series 100 / CASCAR
Super Series Peterborough Speedway 200 will open at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday
morning. The PowerWater 100 will resume at noon. The green flag is slated
to fly on the 200-lap Super Series feature race at 2:30 p.m.
Kerry Micks set the fastest lap during qualifying for the Peterborough
Speedway 200 and will sit on the pole, alongside of Don Thomson Jr.
