WILL, THOMPSON TOP FIELDS AT NHRA LUCAS OIL SERIES RACE AT

INTERMOUNTAIN MOTOR SPORTS PARK

ACTON, Mont. - NHRA Northwest Division racers completed
qualifying and time trials at Intermountain Motor Sports Park's 2nd Annual
NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event. The race is the sixth of seven on
the division schedule and drivers are vying for points leading to divisional
and national titles.

In Top Alcohol Dragster, Hillary Will jumped from the sixth qualifying spot
on Friday to the No. 1 position today. The Fortuna, Caif., driver set the
pace with a 5.612-second, 258.07 mph run. The No. 2 qualifier, Greg Tacke
of Great Falls, Mont., was right on her heels with a 5.615-second, 253.56
mph effort. Will faces off against Medford, Ore., racer Mike Austin in the
first round of eliminations Sunday.

Will has been chosen to drive the new Ken Black-owned, Kalitta
Motorsports-managed Top Fuel dragster that will compete on the 2006 NHRA
POWERade Drag Racing Series circuit. The 25-year-old financial analyst
graduated with a degree in economics from Wheaton College in Massachusetts.
She began bracket racing when she was 17 and competed in Super Street, Super
Gas and Super Comp before earning her Top Alcohol Dragster license.

In Top Alcohol Funny Car, Klamath Falls, Ore., racer Clint Thompson held on
to his No. 1 qualifying spot on the strength of Friday's 5.845-second run at
244.47 mph. Doug Gordon of Paso Robles, Calif., improved on his Friday run
but his 5.875-second, 246.35 mph pass was not enough to eclipse Thompson.
Thompson will have a bye run in the first round of eliminations because of
the odd number of Top Alcohol Funny Cars in competition.

Super Stock racer Jon Percy of Pocatella, Idaho, maintained his
top qualifying spot as did Super Stocker Scott Burton of Golden, Colo., and
Shawn Cowie of Richmond, B.C., in Top Comp. In Comp Eliminator, Jirka
Kaplan of Calgary, Alb., overtook the No. 1 spot. Seattle's Miles Hauer was
the best qualifier in Sportsman Motorcycle.

Racing continues Sunday at Intermountain Motorsports Park. Gates open at 8
a.m. and eliminations begin at 9 a.m. Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol
Funny Car will run first round at noon.

Tickets $20 for adults and children 6 to 12 years old are half-price. Kids
5 and under are admitted free with a paid adult. For more information call
Intermountain Motorsports Park, (406) 861-RACE.
