Tony Pedregon Starts Memphis Qualifying in 12th
Q Racing Pilot Looking For Third No. 1 at Memphis


MILLINGTON, Tenn. (Aug. 19, 2005) ­ Q Racingšs Tony Pedregon drove to the
provisional 12th position after the first two sessions of qualifying for
this weekendšs OšReilly Mid-South NHRA Nationals at Memphis Motorsports
Park.

Pedregon traveled the Memphis quarter mile in 5.040 seconds at 294.05 mph,
opening the weekend with a solid effort. The California native is going for
his third number-one qualifier at Memphis Motorsports Park.

ŗWe were looking for a little more on that run,˛ Pedregon said. ŗThe
conditions were a little warmer, even at night, and we felt it had at least
a 4.90 in it. Wešre going to see if we can move up a little tomorrow. I
think wešll have a shot at it with the evening session.˛
