AIAG AutoTech 2005 Town Halls Respond to Supply Chain Challenges

Addressing Customs Programs and Health Care Costs

DETROIT, Aug. 18 -- AIAG AutoTech 2005 continues to provide a robust conference program with two special interest town halls on customs programs and health care costs and their related impacts on the supply chain. AIAG AutoTech 2005 will run Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2005, at Detroit's Cobo Conference Center.

On Aug. 29, 2005, the Customs Town Hall returns to AIAG AutoTech, discussing programs to ensure secure and efficient border crossings. High- level officials from Customs Border Protection (CBP) and the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will present the new e-Truck Manifest, Bi-National Partnership Border Crossing Study, Advanced Commercial Information (ACI) and the Partners in Protection Program (PIP). The latest developments of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) also will be covered.

New to this year's AIAG AutoTech Conference is the AIAG Health Day town hall on Aug. 30, 2005. For its first event on health care, AIAG will bring together the automotive and medical industries for a full day of information aimed at the reduction of health care costs through the improvement of health wellness and use of best practices and cost-reduction strategies. Leading topics to be explored include AIAG's Quality Management Systems Guideline for Process Improvements in Health Service Organizations, the Asheville project -- a community based initiative for health wellness, a Tier One supplier perspective on health and productivity, and a doctor's point of view with physician collaboration.
