IRL Cars Ready for Chocolate Mini-Grand Prix Through San
Francisco Streets
What: Three open-wheel racecars will rumble through the
streets of San Francisco at historic Ghirardelli Square for the
Chocolate Mini-Grand Prix.
When: Wednesday, Aug. 24, 11:30 a.m. (Pacific)
Who: IRL IndyCar(r) Series drivers Danica Patrick and
Buddy Rice will pilot their Argent Mortgage/Pioneer cars, and another
driver will pilot a Menards Infiniti Pro Series(tm) car.
Where: The Chocolate Mini-Grand Prix will begin at the corner
of Beach and Larkin streets at Ghirardelli Square, near Fisherman's
Wharf, San Francisco.
Why: The event is being held as a promotion for the
upcoming Argent Mortgage Indy Grand Prix at Infineon Raceway, Aug.
26-28. This will mark the first event on a permanent road course in the
10-year history of the IRL. The "winner" of the Chocolate Mini-Grand
Prix will be rewarded with a 10-pound chocolate bar from world-famous
Ghirardelli Chocolates.
