Crosby happy to be ‘back’ at MIS
Eddyville, Ky. – For the first time since she raced at Pikes Peak, and just the second time since Daytona in July, Crosby will be competing on a track that she has been on before.
Crosby, who will be driving the #26 Vassarette Chevrolet, qualified 34th at Michigan International Speedway last season. Engine problems ended her day early but they could not dampen her enthusiasm for the speedway.
“I absolutely love Michigan. I had a good run going there last year until we had some problems with the engine. It will be nice to be racing at a track I’m familiar with for a change.”
It will be a nice change for Crosby, whose first trip around the track last weekend at Watkins Glen International was her qualifying attempt.
“We didn’t get through tech in time for the first practice and the second was rained out,” said Crew Chief Gene Allnutt. “She had a really good run going but it just didn’t happen for us.”
Crosby and the #26 team will have two practices on Friday to fine tune the car. Qualifying airs at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday on Speed and the race follows on TNT at 3 p.m.
