variety of cycling disciplines, including road cycling, mountain bike
cross country and mountain bike gravity events. All disciplines will

(800-870-RACE or www.cmclassic.com <http://www.oschamps.com/> ).
Events: SUPERCUTS ROAD CIRCUIT RACE: The 12-turn, 2.52-mile
Infineon Raceway road course will be the venue for the road circuit
race. These events will run 90 minutes for the amateur divisions and
two-three hours for the professional divisions. The track's twisting,
climbing layout will encourage breakaway runs and attacks by riders. The
pros will race on Saturday, Sept. 10.
INFINEON TECHNOLOGIES CROSS COUNTRY: The cross country event will be
contested on a new 8-9-mile course that will navigate almost the entire
Infineon Raceway facility. The course will feature climbs, descents,
fire roads and swooping singletrack, as well as a few tough 5-10-minute
climbs. This course is 80-percent new to those who raced Infineon
Raceway last year. Pro finals in the men's and women's categories will
be held on Saturday, Sept. 10.
INFINEON TECHNOLOGIES AMBC MOUNTAIN BIKE DOWNHILL: This new course will
be unveiled at the Cougar Mountain Classic and is the crown jewel of the
weekend. Simply put, it could be one of the best downhill courses in the
world. Perched high atop Cougar Mountain, nearly 400 feet above the
raceway, this course will be 90-percent visible from the finish line,
and should offer spectacular, fast, world-class downhill racing. On a
clear day, from the start house, you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and
the San Francisco skyline. Runs will span approximately three minutes
with plenty of natural jumps, and banked and off-camber turns. Top 10
finishers in all categories will qualify for the NORBA National
Championships. Mountain bike downhill will be featured on Sunday, Sept.
11.
INFINEON TECHNOLOGIES AMBC MOUNTAIN CROSS: This exciting event features
four riders springing out of a start gate and rocketing down a 30- to
45-second course filled with bumps, jumps and bermed turns. The
competition is fierce, with elbows flying, legs pumping and aggressive
racing guaranteed as only the top two racers progress to the next round.
Finals in these events are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10.
SUPERCUTS EIGHT-HOURS OF ROAD CYCLING: The endurance racing craze hits
the 12-turn, 2.52-mile Infineon Raceway road course with an eight-hour
road cycling endurance event on Sunday, Sept. 11. Riders can compete
alone in the solo category and or on four-member teams, and the racing
rules are kept simple. The ride runs from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
INFINEON TECHNOLOGIES EIGHT-HOURS OF MOUNTAIN BIKING: Sunday, Sept. 11
will also feature an eight-hour endurance mountain bike race, running
concurrently with the road cycling endurance event. The mountain bike
event will take place on the nine-mile cross country course, and will
feature a solo category and four-member teams. This event will run from
8 a.m.-4 p.m.
15K ROAD/OFF-ROAD RUN: The action won't be limited to pedal-power, as
runners will face a challenging road & trail run around the property.
The All American Trail Running Association (AARTA) sanctioned
road/off-road run will be approximately 9-10 miles (15K), incorporating
the wide, smooth, paved Infineon Raceway road course, as well as cross
country hills, fireroads and singletrack. The 15K run will take place on
Saturday, Sept. 10.
In addition: The Infineon Technologies Cougar Mountain Classic will
also offer a variety of activities for families and recreational riders.
Riders can enjoy the Supercuts slow ride, which will be a casual ride
around the 2.52-mile Infineon Raceway road course on Saturday, Sept.
