Exide Awarded Battery Supply Contracts by German Army
ALPHARETTA, Ga.--Aug. 1, 20056, 2005--Exide Technologies (www.exide.com), a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, announced today that it has been awarded two battery supply contracts by the German Army.Exide will supply approximately 15,000 units of its maintenance-free NATO bloc batteries to the German Army for military-vehicle applications. The 12-volt/100-amphere-hour gel batteries are scheduled for delivery in 2005. The batteries will be produced at Exide's manufacturing plants in Budingen and Bad Lauterberg, Germany.
