Terry Borcheller - Watkins Glen race

Terry Borcheller returned to the track where he has won the most sports-car
races (seven), but he wasn't able to add to the tally on Aug. 12.
Borcheller, of Gainesville, Ga., and Ralf Kelleners of Dusseldorf, Germany,
teamed in the No. 54 Bell Motorsports/Feeds the Need Pontiac-powered Doran
JE4 for the second of three Rolex Sports Car Series races at Watkins Glen
(N.Y.) International this season.

Kelleners qualified seventh on the 45-car grid with a lap time of one minute
9.323 seconds on the 2.45-mile road course. He took the first stint and
moved up to third after 33 minutes of the two-hour race. His strong drive
was thwarted when he spun a few minutes later and dropped back to 18th.
Borcheller took over at 58 minutes and worked back up to finish 12th.

"Ralf did a good job in qualifying and the race was very exciting,"
Borcheller said. "Ralf had moved up to third and then spun in turn one and
fell back to 18th. We ended up getting a yellow that enabled us to do our
driver change under yellow, and we had a very good pit stop – I went back on
the track in 15th. The race was fairly uneventful for me, there was just a
lot of traffic and it was very busy. I had to be more defensive because 20
of the 26 cars were capable of running at the front. It was exciting in that
way."
