Tony Pedregon Grabs Eighth-Qualifying Position
Q Racing Driver Awaits Bazemore

Brainerd, Minn. (August 13, 2005) - Tony Pedregon maneuvered the Q Racing
Nitro Funny Car to the eighth position for this weekendıs NHRA National
Event at Brainerd International Raceway.

Pedregon clocked a 4.791-second elapsed time at 323.74 mph during
Yesterdayıs first session. This performance comes behind of Pedregonıs
No. 1 qualifying effort during the Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals at Infineon
Raceway two weeks ago.

³We are glad to be in the top half of the field,² Pedregon said. ³The Q
Racing car has plenty of horsepower, tomorrow we will pull it when we need
it. My crew is going to do their job setting up the car for Sundayıs
conditions - similar to todayıs - and I will do mine driving.²

Pedregon will face qualifier No. 6, Whit Bazemore, during the first round of
Sundayıs eliminations.
