Franchitti to Start Ninth in ArcaEx Car at Kentucky
SPARTA, Ky. (Aug. 13, 2005) - Dario Franchitti will start from the ninth position for Sunday's
running of the Indy Racing LeagueŽ IndyCarŽ Series AMBER Alert Portal Indy 300.
Rain washed out the scheduled qualifying session, resulting in the field being determined by
speeds set during two earlier practice sessions. Franchitti recorded a best lap of 216.835 miles per hour
(24.5717 seconds) during the first of those sessions.
The 12th event of the 2005 IndyCar Series season is set to go green at 3:45 p.m. (EDT) Sunday
with ABC providing live broadcast coverage of the 200-lap event beginning at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).
Dario Franchitti, #27 ArcaEx Dallara/Honda/Firestone:
"We're still struggling to find a balance and the speed that we think we'll need to win the race.
It's been a difficult day; this place is horrendously bumpy, not only on the track but in the pit as well and
we're fighting with that, but it's the same for everybody. We just need to get the ArcaEx car working a
little better and we'll be okay."
