Tony Pedregon Scores Second After Day One
Strong Opener for the Q Racing Team

Brainerd, Minn. (August 12, 2005) - Tony Pedregon guided the Q Racing Nitro
Funny Car to the second position after the first day of qualifying for this
weekend's NHRA Nationals at Brainerd International Raceway.

Pedregon drove to a 4.791-second elapsed time at 323.74 mph on his second
pass. The Q Racing driver plans on being aggressive tomorrow, trying to
collect his fourth number-one qualifier of the season.

³Today, we run in the conservative side,² Pedregon said. ³We underestimated
the track, but still had two solid runs. The engine of the Q car has a lot
of horsepower, and
all we have to do tomorrow is to apply it in the right direction.

³The (climatic) conditions will play a big role, but it seems that is going
to stay cool. Q Racing may have a good shot at a top qualifier spot at
Brainerd.²

The Q Racing driver is aiming for his fourth No.1 qualifier of the 2005 NHRA
POWERade Drag Racing Series Season. Pedregon has already grabbed top spots
in Pomona, Calif., Phoenix, Ariz., and Sonoma, Calif.
