Duckworth Appointed Hyundai Alabama Deputy President and Chief Administrative Officer

MONTGOMERY, Ala., Aug. 12, 2005 -- Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC, (HMMA) President Joo Soo Ahn has appointed M. Keith Duckworth as Deputy President and Chief Administrative Officer. In this role, Duckworth will be responsible for oversight of HMMA's administration, including human resources, general affairs, public relations, diversity, safety, information technology, security and sales. He will also play an integral role in the community through community and governmental relations.

Duckworth comes to Hyundai's Alabama plant from Hyundai Motor America (HMA), headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., where he served as Executive Vice President, Administrative Services, responsible for human resources, facilities, purchasing and information technology.

Duckworth joined HMA in 1989, having previously worked in human resources at Nissan Motor Company. Before entering the private sector, he worked in law enforcement, serving in the Seal Beach Police Department. A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Duckworth is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and Western State University College of Law.

HMMA, headquartered in Montgomery, Ala., is an independent manufacturing operation of Hyundai Motor Company, based in Seoul, Korea. HMMA currently produces the Sonata sedan, and will begin production of the next generation 2007 Santa Fe sport utility vehicle in spring of 2006. At full capacity, HMMA will produce 300,000 vehicles annually. Hyundai cars and sport utility vehicles are distributed throughout the United States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and serviced by more than 650 Hyundai dealerships nationwide.
