* Tony Pedregon, driver of the Q Racing team,heads to the land of the 10,000
lakes to compete this weekend in the 24thannual NHRA Nationals. The 2003
Funny Car champion and his Q Racing Nitro Funny Car are ready for the 16th
race of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series schedule at Brainerd
International Raceway.
 
* Tony Pedregon, el piloto de Q Racing, sedirige este fin de semana a la
tierra de los 10,000 lagos para competir enel 24 avo campeonato anual de los
NHRA Nationals. El campeón de Funny Cardel 2003 y su auto Q Racing Nitro
Funny Car se dirigen al Brainerd International Raceway para competir en la
16 ava carrera de la NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
 
* With only two races to go before the 51st annual U.S. Nationals at
Indianapolis Raceway Park professional drag racing¹s biggest spectacle-
teams strive to be in top shape. This weekend¹s race in Brainerd will be the
first challenge, followed by the race at Memphis (Tenn.)
> Motorsports Park.

        ³Brainerd and Memphis are the benchmark races before Indy,² Pedregon
said. ³It sets the stage for the
        teams and you want to hit your stride for the ŒBig Go¹ coming up at
Indy. We are looking to polish up,
        accumulate more points and race strong.²

* Pedregon is pleased with the direction the Q Racing team is taking. He
talked about how the team has come together on both the performance and the
consistency sides of the equation.

* ³It has come with time,² Pedregon said. ³You always want to make progress
fast, but the way to do that is to continue to work. This team has a great
work ethic and we¹re not going to be content until we have a complete, solid
package in place. We have achieved performance and consistency, the
challenge is the quality of the competition out here.²

* So far this year, Pedregon has qualified inthe number one position in
Pomona, Calif. and Chandler, Ariz. He alsobroke the elapsed-time record at
Pomona Raceway with a 4.681-second passat 323.35mph. In Chandler, Ariz.,
Pedregon broke Firebird International Raceway¹s elapsed time record at 4.703
seconds. 
 
        At Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., Pedregon wrapped up a third
No. 1 qualifier, and set a new
        elapsed-time track record with 4.759 seconds. Pedregon heads to
Brainerd International Raceway 10th
        in POWERade Funny Car points with 707.

 
* Este año, hasta el momento, Pedregon se haclasificado en la posición
número uno en Pomona 1, Calif. y Chandler,Ariz. También ha batido el récord
de tiempo en el Pomona Raceway con 4.681segundos a 323.35 mph. Y el del
