Intelli-Check Announces Second Quarter 2005 Financial Results
WOODBURY, N.Y.--Aug. 1, 20050, 2005--Intelli-Check, Inc. (AMEX:IDN), a leader in advanced identification-document verification systems, today announced financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2005. Revenues increased 284% to $996,967 for the second quarter 2005, up from $259,901 for the same period in 2004. Bookings, which represent shipments of products and contracted services, increased 259% to $1,145,211 in the 2005 period, up from $319,291 in Q2 2004. The increase in both revenues and bookings for the 2005 quarter were largely a result of a substantial order from a significant retailer. Net loss decreased significantly to $181,843, or ($.02) per share, in Q2 2005, down from $2,642,281, or ($.27) per share, in Q2 2004. Basic and diluted weighted average shares outstanding used in computing per-share amounts were 10,765,064 in Q2 2005 and 10,181,085 in Q2 2004. At quarter-end, the company had on its balance sheet $2,543,390 in cash, cash equivalents and short-term marketable securities and other investments, which amount does not include substantial receivables collected since that date and the net proceeds from our recently completed $5,000,000 private placement."This quarter proved to be a very good one for Intelli-Check, with some of our hard work over the past several years coming to fruition," said Frank Mandelbaum, chairman and chief executive officer. "As we announced previously, during the quarter we received a substantial order from a significant retailer that has licensed our software - a success that was years in the making from initial interest to final sale. The response to our new products has been gratifying, as was the issuance of an additional patent that we believe further strengthens our competitive position in the marketplace. We are also seeing increased interest in our offerings in both the commercial and government markets driven by government efforts to enhance security and control sales of age-restricted products. The strong increase in bookings and our enhanced patent position bodes well for our future. Although the sales cycles for our products remain long and difficult to predict, we believe we have the strategy, people, and resources in place to take advantage of our considerable opportunities and bring the company to profitability. This is particularly true in light of the increased capital available to the Company as a result of the private placement we recently completed."
