GEICO Names Mary Zarcone Midwest Regional Vice President

MACON, Ga., Aug. 9, 2005 -- GEICO's board of directors recently announced the election of Mary Zarcone to vice president with general management responsibilities for GEICO's Midwest regional operations in Macon, Ga.

Previously, Zarcone served as assistant vice president of Midwest operations. Prior to that, she was assistant vice president of underwriting in GEICO's Fredericksburg, Va., office.

Zarcone joined GEICO in 1972 as a sales counselor in the company's Woodbury, N.Y., office. Three years later she moved to claims operations progressing through several management positions. She went on to become the director of residual marketing underwriting and service director. She took an assignment in GEICO's Fredericksburg, Va., office in 1999, where she served until 2002 and her subsequent promotion to assistant vice president in Macon.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Long Island University in New York.
