Brazilian President Lula Da Silva Endorses Evader
TERESINA, Brazil--Aug. 9, 2005--Bellevue-Washington based Evader, Inc. (www.evader.us.) (Pink Sheets:EVDR), the maker of electric high-performance vehicles powered by their leading-edge proprietary technology is proud to announce today that Evader's products and Brazilian manufacturing plan meet the enthusiastic approval of the President of Brazil, Luiz Inncio Lula da Silva."This is an enormous step for Evader. We were thrilled that a person of President Lula's stature made the effort to experience our Evader products," said Brent Nelson, Managing Director of Evader. "It was a landmark visit and the President was very impressed. In fact, he said he loved it."
The meeting with President Lula, which also included several government ministers and Governor Dias of the State of Piaui, was a multi-pronged visit involving talks with Evader aimed at securing a commitment from the Brazilian government regarding Evader's electric vehicles. To that end, the Governor of Piaui signed a long-term agreement, which includes a parcel of land for an Evader manufacturing plant (1,000,000 sq. ft) in Teresina as well as other concessions to help bring the country more in line with the Kyoto Protocol, which was also discussed.
President Lula enjoyed the Evader EV100 and noted that the operating and acquisition costs of an Evader in Brazil is exactly what the working population needs. The President wanted Piaui to have the first factory building zero emission vehicles in Latin America and that this factory would put Piaui on the map in Brazil and Brazil on the forefront of the world's stage in an attempt to be environmentally conscious said another official.
Although Evader has already signed an agreement with the Garini Motorcycle Group for 110,000 units over the next five years, with this endorsement of Evader and its products, the company expects the joint venture to grow with more major announcements anticipated in the near future.
