Racing Postponed at SSP on Sunday Night
Newberrytown, PA (August 7, 2005) - The racing events scheduled for Sunday
night, August 7 have been postponed until Sunday night, August 14 due to a
late afternoon thunderstorm. Returning on Sunday night will be the Trail
Motors Super Sportsman, Street Stocks, Four Cylinders and Road Warriors. It will
also be Camera & Autograph night.
The next race at SSP will be Thursday night, August 11 with Camera and
Autograph night featuring the return of the Topless Late Models along with the
Xtreme Stock Cars, XSC Rookie Rumble, and the EMMR Vintage Club Cars. All fans
will have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers with their cars on
the frontstretch before the feature events. The topless Late Models will
compete exclusively under the rules of the Silver Springs Late Models
(_www.silverspringspeedway.com_ (http://www.silverspringspeedway.com/) ) with the
Hoosier spec HTMA tire used on all four corners. If needed, a rain date will be
announced for this event.
Gates open in the pit area and grandstands at 5:00 p.m. Warm-ups begin at
7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. SSP will continue
its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00 discount for each
person on August 11 with a ticket stub from the July 24 or August 4 events only.
Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number
on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during the
season for great prizes. Last season, the grand prize was two tickets for the
October NASCAR race at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Pit pass prices are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all track
licensee holders.

- The Super Sportsman at SSP culminates with the Inaugural 75-lap Trail
Motors Championship on Sunday, September 4, paying $2,500 to the winner. For the
championship race, there will be 12 automatic qualifiers for the event
determined by the winners of the following events: 1) Silver Spring (Sat., May 28 –
Craig Morrow); 2) SSP (Sun., May 29 – Russ Mitten); 3) SSP (Sun., June 5 –
Dave Calaman); 4) Port Royal (Wed., June 15 - Pat Cannon); 5) SSP (Sun.,
June 19 – Rich Eichelberger); 6) Williams Grove (Fri., June 24 – Danny
Hager); 7) Silver Spring (Sat., July 2 – Billy Schoffstall); 8) SSP (Sun., July 3 –
Frankie Herr); 9) Lincoln (Wed., July 20 – Carmen Perigo Jr.); 10) SSP
(Sun., July 24 – Gregg Foster); 11) SSP (Sun., Aug. 14); 12) SSP (Sun., Aug. 21).
The remainder of the field for the championship will qualify through heats
and a last chance race. All Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series events at
SSP will require the use of Hoosier Tires on all four corners with a Hoosier
105/18-15 plated (HTMA or HTE) right rear spec tire.
- The Sprint Cars return to SSP on Thursday night, August 18 with Camera and
Autograph night. Also racing will be the Xtreme Stock Cars, XSC Rookie
Rumble, Legends Cars and a Mini Van Novelty Race to be announced. All fans will
have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers with their cars on the
frontstretch before the feature events. If needed, a rain date will be
announced for this event.
- On Sunday night, August 21 the Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series will be
featured along with the Silver Spring Street Stocks, Classic Cars and a Road
Warrior Novelty Race to be announced. There will also be the final
One-on-One Street Car Drag of the season. Entries for the Street Car Drags are
limited to sixteen and forms are available online at sspracing.net or by calling
(717) 292-1696. The winner will receive $250.00.
