Exide Technologies Appoints Jeff Barna Vice President - U.S. Aftermarket Sales and Branch System

ALPHARETTA, Ga.--Aug. 4, 2005--Exide Technologies , a global leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, today announced that Jeff Barna has returned to the Company as Vice President - U.S. Aftermarket Sales and Branch System, effective September 1.

From 1987 to 2001, Mr. Barna held a number of sales and branch positions at Exide, including Senior Vice President of Sales and Service for the Americas, Vice President of U.S. Aftermarket Sales and Branch Services, and Vice President of Eastern Division Sales and Branch Services. After leaving Exide, he was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Millard Refrigerated Service and most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Refrigerated Logistics Group. Earlier in his career, he was the New York City Zone Manager for the Monroe Auto Equipment division of Tenneco Automotive.
