Monterey Peninsula Site of Next NayKid Racing Adventure MONTEREY, Calif., August 3, 2005 - NayKid Racing will make its final west coast appearance of 2005 on Sunday at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National event is the first appearance at the track for Northwest-based team of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Puyallup, Wash.) since 2002. It also marks the first time that the two KUMHO Tires/ SRT/ Forgeline Wheels/ CORSA Exhaust/ Moton Shocks Dodge Viper SRT10s will compete on the 2.238-mile, 11-turn facility in Monterey, Calif. Despite the long layoff, the weekend could prove to be one of the most successful of the season as the team continues to develop the first year entry. White still holds the T1 class track record set at the team's last race here and the track is a personal favorite of Lux. "It will be nice to get back behind the wheel of the Viper at such a challenging facility," remarked Lux who is returning to competition for the first time since being struck by an out-of-control competitor at Road America which led to several cracked ribs in June. "Laguna is one of my favorite tracks on the west coast. It will be interesting to see how the Viper performs this weekend especially since Scotty set the T1 track record back in 2002. The bar has been raised so much in T1 with the Corvettes getting so much faster over the past two years. We'll have to see where we stand once we get there. These Vipers are a kick in the ass to drive, especially with the grip of the KUMHO Ecsta tires." NayKid Racing and preparation experts Lux Performance, LLC. continue to work to advance the nearly stock Dodge Viper SRT10s. After the incident at Road America, Lux's No. 78 and White's No. 3 Dodge super cars have undergone further development by both team and manufacturer technicians. However, with an SCCA-mandated 40% air restrictor slashing horsepower, even the famous V10 built by DaimlerChrysler's SRT Division cannot overcome the straight-away speeds of their competitors. Like other events this year, a premium has been placed on handling, braking and the driving of Lux and White. "What a beautiful track and gorgeous area of California," enthused White about the circuit. "It's the perfect backdrop for the beauty of our hot rods! We haven't been to Laguna in three years and I can hardly wait to see Cindi back in a car and healthy after the Sprints. The season is winding down and we are giving it our all. The cars are being strangled by the restrictors. Hopefully, we can put some of the Viper torque and brakes to use on the uphill sections of this track and get a good result for SRT, KUMHO and NayKid Racing." Following the Monterey-round, the 10th race weekend for the team, NayKid Racing turns its focus to the SCCA National Runoffs to be held at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on September 23rd.
