Telogis Releases New Version of GeoBase OEM GIS Engine

COSTA MESA, Calif.--Aug. 1, 2005--Telogis, a leading provider of Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL), GIS and telematics services, announced today the release of its GeoBase(TM) OEM Mapping engine, Version 1.4.

GeoBase(TM) is an OEM component that allows software companies to quickly add mapping, geocoding, routing and spatial analysis to applications. GeoBase features include client- and server-based mapping, fast reverse-geocoding, natural language address look-up, real-time geofence violations and route optimization with driving directions.

Telogis releases a new version of GeoBase each quarter, coinciding with street data updates from NAVTEQ. Telogis is a NAVTEQ sales channel partner in the telemetry and telematics spaces.

In addition to the data update, GeoBase(TM) v1.4 adds support for speeding violations based on posted speed limits, support for Points of Interest (POIs), and numerous other features. Also included are extended geometries for routing - expanding GeoBase's(TM) support for navigation on handhelds, cell phones and other GPS-enabled devices.
