CAROLINA/VIRGINIA FOCUS MIDGETS PREPARE FOR FLORENCE AFTER HUDSON RAINOUT
INDIANAPOLIS – The USAC Carolina/Virginia Ford Focus Midget Car Series
prepares for its first race of the season in South Carolina and first in
four weeks after Friday’s rainout at Tri-County Motor Speedway.
Chase Scott of Concord, N.C. leads the series Saturday to Florence Motor
Speedway in Timmonsville, S.C. for the first time in the series’ two-year
history. Scott’s lead is 52 over Robbie Ray heading into the event, the
first for USAC at the 4/10-mile paved oval in its 50-year history.
Scott won the only other Carolina/Virginia race in the Palmetto State, which
came last September at Anderson. The series last competed July 9 at Kentucky
Speedway in Sparta, Ky., a conjoined show with the Midwest region.
USAC and Tri-County officials have negotiated about rescheduling Friday’s
event at Tri-County in Hudson, N.C. but have yet to settle on a date.
