POINTS LEADER SBORO, WEAN CLAIM NORTHEAST FOCUS MIDGET VICTORIES IN NEW YORK

INDIANAPOLIS – Michael Sboro of Watertown, N.Y. and Nick Wean of Milford,
N.J. claimed USAC Northeast Ford Focus Midget Car Series victories over the
weekend in The Empire State, keeping tight the series points standings.

Points leader Sboro scored his second Northeast victory of the season Friday
with a 25-lap victory at Adirondack International Speedway in Lowville, N.Y.
Sboro led all but the opening two tours on the 1/3-mile track, driving the
No. 24 Dealmaker Auto Group/Fast Lube of Watertown Beast to the checkered
flag. Trailing Sboro at the finish were Stephanie Stevens, Aaron Wall, Ryan
Smith and Wean. Sixth-place finisher Ryan Osborne led the opening two laps.

Wean, who trailed Sboro by two points heading into the weekend, kept the
points close with his first career USAC victory Saturday at Chemung
Speedrome in Chemung, N.Y. Driving the family-owned No. 78 Wean Heating &
Tank Maintenance/Johnny’s Truck Stop Stealth, Wean took control of the race
on Lap 13 and led Wade Mattesen, Sboro, Drew Sprague and Jeff Abold to the
stripe. Abold and Smith traded the race lead over the first 12 laps before
Wean took the point. With the victory, Wean trimmed Sboro’s series lead to
nine points.

The Northeast region will continue with a 25-lap event Aug. 13 at Oxford
Plains Speedway in Oxford, Maine.
