GARDNER RETURNS TO PERRIS SATURDAY LOOKING TO ADD TO HIS EIGHT 2005 CRA SPRINT WINS


             Damion Gardner of Concord, Calif. has sliced defending 
Valvoline USAC/CRA Sprint Car series champion Rip Williams' point lead to 
just 50 going into this Saturday night's return to Perris (Calif.) Auto 
Speedway. A total of 74 points are available at Perris and the feature is a 
30-lapper.

             Gardner continued his recent winning streak in weekend races 
at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash., taking both Friday night's 30-lapper 
and Saturday night's 40-lapper in the Chaffin Motorsports Temecula Valley 
Pipe & Supply/Arizona Race Mart Eagle/Shaver. The wins were his seventh and 
eighth in the series this season.

             Trailing Gardner Friday were Cory Kruseman, Tony Jones, 
Williams and Bud Kaeding. On Saturday, Gardner was followed by Mike Kirby, 
fast qualifier Kaeding, Mike Spencer and Danny Sheridan.
              Gardner's fast qualifying time on Friday at Skagit was his 
14th this season.
