SOUTH CENTRAL BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL NIGHT
TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCK RACERS APPRECIATION NIGHT
AUGUST 5, 2005
AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY
BLOOMINGTON, IN (July 31, 2005) - Bloomington Speedway will host another night of exciting racing action on Friday, August 5. The evening's racing will feature sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks.
Joining us on August 5 will be members of the South Central Building & Construction Trades Council. These guys work hard for their money; and they expect value for it. They know that they get that value at Bloomington Speedway.
August 5 will also be Tire & Wheel Center Super Stock Racers' Appreciation Night. The super stock racers will be running for extra prize money on August 5. Their feature will pay $750 to win with proper decals. Mike Miles appreciates the loyalty of our competitors who enable us to bring a great racing program to our fans each Friday night. There is no increase in the admission charge in either the grandstand or the pits for this special show.
We expect the pits to be filled to overflowing with Tire & Wheel Center super stock teams attempting to pick up the extra prize money. There should also be plenty of sprint cars and O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds. This will give the fans more of what they come to Bloomington Speedway to see - GREAT RACING.
Because performance at Bloomington Speedway such a good measure of a racer's performance, a Bloomington Speedway championship is one of the most coveted in the area. Don't miss the next battles in the wars for Bloomington Speedway championships.
Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event (children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult); and pit admission is $20. AUGUST 12, 2005
BLOOMINGTON, IN (July 31, 2005) - Rain washed out the Sheldon Kinser Memorial in June; but Mike Miles feels very strongly that we should not give Mother Nature another spot on the list of Sheldon Kinser Memorial champions.
No place is more appropriate for a memorial to Sheldon Kinser than the famous red clay oval that is Bloomington Speedway. Most fans remember Sheldon for the daring that he displayed on race tracks from coast to coast. He raced on tracks from quarter mile bull rings in sprints and midgets to mile dirt ovals in USAC champ dirt cars (now Silver Crown) to the superspeedways where he competed with the best in champ cars. Mike's determination to run this race is symbolic of Sheldon's determination.
The Sheldon Kinser Memorial is one of the premier sprint car races of the season every year.
Most of the drivers who will be in competition on August 12, never raced against Sheldon Kinser. In fact, it is likely that the majority of them never saw Sheldon race. However, there are a number of drivers who appreciate the history of this race and the driver in whose honor it is run.
Of course, Kevin Briscoe cherishes his previous Sheldon Kinser Memorial trophies; but he'd certainly like to add another to the two that he already has. Bryan Clauson, Kent Christian, Dick Gaines II, Kevin "Pup" Huntley all would like to add their name to the prestigious list of Sheldon Kinser Memorial winners. Of course, defending Sheldon Kinser Memorial champion Shane Cottle has to believe that he can repeat.
In addition to the sprints, the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. open wheel modifieds and the Tire & Wheel Centers super stocks will also be in competition that night. They will be running for $600 to win with proper decals.
Don't miss this great race. General Admission is only $15 While pit admission is $25. Kids 12 and under are admitted to the grandstand free with a paying adult. Parking and overnight camping are free. Coolers are allowed; but glass containers are prohibited.
Pit gates open at 4:30 PM; and the grandstand opens at 5:30 PM. Hot Laps begin at 6:30 PM; and racing begins at 7:30 PM. BE THERE!
