Chip Ellis aboard the G2 S&S Buell out in round two

SONOMA, Calif. (July 31, 2005) - After qualifying No. 9 at the 18th
annual NHRA FRAM Autolite Nationals, Chip Ellis driver of the G Squared
S&S Buell Pro Stock Motorcycle, lost to Andrew Hines in the second round
at Infineon Raceway.

The preparation work, especially on the chassis, paid off in the opening
round when Ellis pulled away from Craig Treble to take the win light and
advance to the quarterfinals. It was a 7.156-second pass for Ellis,
while Treble followed in 7.236 seconds.

Running a 7.134-second elapsed time, a foul start in the second round
negated any chance that Ellis had at a win. Hines, who ran a national
record 6.968-second pass in the opening round, followed that up with a
7.042 second run in round two.

"We overcame a lot of problems this weekend that prevented us from
qualifying at optimum performance level," said George Bryce, partner and
co-owner of G Squared Motorsports along with George Smith. "We actually
were pleased with our results in both rounds of eliminations today. No
matter if Chip had cut a perfect light we would not have come out on top
today; but removing the bikes of Andrew Hines and GT Tonglet from the
equation today, we ran as well as anybody else out here.

"We'll go home and work on generating more horsepower and readying our
new chassis for competition and go after them again in Brainerd."

Unofficially, Ellis is number six in POWERade points. He leaves this
race with 531 points.

NEXT RACE: Chip Ellis and G Squared Motorsports will take some
much-needed time off to regroup before the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing
Series resumes at Brainerd International Raceway, August 11-14, for the
NHRA Lucas Oil Nationals.

TELEVISION: ESPN2 HD will air three hours of same-day television
coverage of eliminations beginning at 9 p.m. this evening (July 31).
The elimination show repeats on ESPN2 HD early Monday morning, August 1,
from 2 until 4:30 a.m. Also, tune in to NHRA2Day on ESPN2 HD, the

G SQUARED MOTORSPORTS: When Harley Davidson accelerated their effort in
NHRA, S&S Cycle decided in 2002 to join the battle. Because of his vast
R&D experience, coupled with his racing background, S&S asked George
Smith to head their project to field a competitive S&S V-Twin bike on
the NHRA circuit. Smith immediately asked George Bryce, who had been
working with S&S Cycle on a similar project, to join the new endeavor
and G Squared Motorsports was formed in 2003. Both Smith and Bryce knew
if they collaborated on the project, joining the resources, knowledge
and talents of S&S and Star Racing, they could produce a competitive
bike to race in Pro Stock Motorcycle competition on the NHRA POWERade
Drag Racing Series. The G Squared/S&S-powered V-Twin Buell debuted in 2004.
