F1-K karts make fantastic debut at Mosport
MOSPORT, ONTARIO Cameron Motorsports introduced the new F1-K CRG/Maxter
package in dramatic fashion at Mosport today, as part of the OKRA
GrandNationals. 13 of the new F1-K International karts were in the hands of
some of the best karters in Canada for a 30-minute enduro.
"This is a great way for us to show the Canadian Karting community just how
good these karts are," said Bob Cameron. "They put on a fantastic show
today, and I think all the karters were impressed with the performance of
the F1-K karts."
The enduro featured some of the most prominent names in the karting
community. Marco Di Leo and Sal Ditta were teamed up together and they
ended up winning the event by 6 tenths of a second over a team fielded by
www.canadiankartingnews.com, consisting of Frank Launi and Daniel Morad.
"These F1-K karts just rock," said Launi. "They are really fast, fun to
drive, and as you could see tonight, very equal."
Other notables in the field were Dan Di Leo, Aaron de Heus, Mike Roth, both
the Pritiko brothers and Eric Gerrits.
At the start of the race, the team consisting of Kaitlyn Johnston and Jeff
Grist took the early lead, before being overhauled by the team of Roth and
Gerrits, who led until the pit stops. During those stops, the team of Di
Leo and Ditta took the lead, and they held it until the checkered flag.
"It was a really, really good race," said Di Leo. "The karts are very
equal, and they are very fast. I think Cameron Motorsports has a sure
winner here."
Wrex Roth, who organized the event was happy with the performance of the
new F1-K karts. "This was a great way to introduce these karts," Roth said.
"They all ran flawlessly, and the times were all very close. The top three
were within 2 seconds after 30 minutes."
