Barrett-Jackson Announces 2006 Auction Dates; 35th Anniversary to be Celebrated with Extended Dates for Scottsdale Event
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.--July 27, 2005--The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company has announced the dates for their collector car events in 2006. After setting numerous world records in 2005, Barrett-Jackson will celebrate this year with its 35th anniversary in Scottsdale, Ariz. and will hold its 4th annual auction event in Palm Beach, Fla."Our 2005 events were the focal point of the red hot collector car hobby," said Craig Jackson, President of the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company. "The response to these automotive lifestyle events was so strong that we're expanding with even more days to accommodate additional attractions, celebrations, celebrities and pristine collector cars in 2006." This year's event will be a record nine days long.
The 35th Anniversary Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Event will be held January 14 - 22, 2006, at Westworld in Scottsdale. The 2005 auction generated $61.7 million in total sales with 100% of the vehicles sold at no reserve.
The 4th Annual Palm Beach Collector Car Event will return in the spring, March 30 - April 2, 2006, to the South Florida Expo Center in Palm Beach, Florida. Sales at the 2005 Palm Beach auction topped $22 million with every car sold at no reserve.
Some of the most desirable vehicles in the world changed hands during the 2005 Barrett-Jackson auctions. These included the $3.24 million sale of a 1954 Oldsmobile F-88 concept car in Scottsdale and the $1.62 million sale of Howard Hughes's 1953 Buick Roadmaster in Palm Beach as well as several other world record sales. The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale event will add three extra days to the festivities, which will include exclusive events such as additional vehicle viewing days, Childhelp USA charity gala, clinics, and the popular opening night gala.
"These auctions are far more than a place to buy and sell collector cars," noted Jackson. "While the Scottsdale and Palm Beach events each have their own distinctive flavor, both have a festive atmosphere, fantastic cars, high profile celebrities, spectacular vendors and dynamic bidding. Our team is planning to make the 35th anniversary truly special. Anyone interested in the collector car hobby should be at these two stellar Barrett-Jackson automotive lifestyle events in 2006."
