(July 27, 2005) Rocketsports Racing will take their Trans-Am series’ Jaguars to the streets of San Jose, California for the inaugural Taylor Woodrow San Jose Grand Prix. The trio will participate in the Cytomax Sports Drink 100, Saturday afternoon, consisting of 70 laps around the 1.44-mile temporary street course of Northern California. California native, Tomy Drissi, driving the No. 5 Four Brothers the Movie Jaguar XKR, will aim for his third podium finish in three events. Rookie driver, Klaus Graf, sitting second in the championship, looks to close the points gap with leader Randy Ruhlman by winning for the second time in 2005. Trans-Am series all-time wins leader, Paul Gentilozzi, will make his 203rd start when the green flag falls in San Jose.Turning in his best performance of the 2005 season, the Rockin’ Moroccan, Drissi, wants to take the momentum of two straight podium finishes and leading 32 laps in Edmonton to move up in the champion standings. Drissi sits fourth in the championship, two points behind Joey Scarallo and just five behind teammate Graf for second. “We are going to San Jose to capitalize on our recent performance,” Drissi said. “Edmonton really tightened things up and I am looking forward to running for the pole and the win, both of which we should have had in Edmonton. Circumstances took both away from us, but that is racing.”Finishing third last week, Graf moved within 16 points of the championship leader Ruhlman. The German driver will attempt to close that gap by: winning the pole, setting the fast lap, leading the most laps and winning this weekend race; capitalizing on all bonus points. “We had a good points weekend in Edmonton and gained a bit on Randy,” said Graf. “This weekend we have to do it again by taking every point we can. I am looking forward to the San Jose circuit and experiencing the atmosphere of the city.”The four-time champion, Gentilozzi, entered his first of 203 Trans-Am events on June 20, 1987. Three weeks ago he scored his 30th career victory, breaking the record for all-time wins. Don’t expect the veteran to slow down anytime soon. “Just because we reached an important milestone by breaking the all-time wins record, doesn’t mean I am done,” said Gentilozzi. “I am going to run hard every lap and race for the win every time. If you don’t have the passion to win, I don’t believe you should be out there.” The Cytomax Sports Drink 100 from the streets of San Jose is scheduled for Saturday, July 30th at 7:00 pm Eastern time.
