PPG Honored as 2004 Visteon Important Partner

VAN BUREN TOWNSHIP, Mich.--July 27, 2005--PPG Industries was named as a Visteon Important Partner, exemplifying "Best in Class" performance as a North American non-metals supplier to meet Visteon Corporation's needs.

PPG supplies Visteon with a full line of coatings for the automotive parts and accessories market such as adhesion promoters, clear coat and a wide range of colored base coats, and PPG field service associates ensure successful on-line operation.

The Visteon Important Partner program was established in 2001. Winners are selected by a global, cross-functional Visteon team with input from manufacturing, product development, supplier quality, customer business groups and purchasing. Selection criteria focus on supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, value, technical capability and customer service. Supplier awards were granted for: metals, non-metals, electronics, non-production goods and services, transportation and recognizing an exemplary minority supplier from North America.

Pittsburgh-based PPG is a global supplier of coatings, glass, fiber glass and chemicals, with 108 manufacturing facilities and equity affiliates in more than 20 countries. Sales were $9.5 billion in 2004.
