ArvinMeritor Names Aziz Aghili to Lead Commercial Marketing and Business Development for Light Vehicle Systems Asia/Pacific Operation
SHANGHAI, China, July 27 -- ArvinMeritor, Inc. today announced that Aziz Aghili has been appointed vice president of Commercial Marketing and Business Development for the company's Light Vehicle Systems (LVS) Asia/Pacific operation. This new role is in addition to Aghili's current vice president responsibilities for the LVS global procurement organization. He will continue to report directly to Juan De La Riva, senior vice president and president, LVS.
In this position, Aghili will be responsible for driving strategic Asia/Pacific growth opportunities within LVS, to include development of new business, as well as fostering current customer relationships. He will also continue to lead the business group's aggressive Leading Cost Country (LCC) sourcing initiative directly from Shanghai, China, where he will relocate from the company's Detroit, Mich., office.

Aghili began his career with the company as a manager of Engineering in 1989, and has held a number of management and leadership positions since then, including director of Operations and business liaison in Asia/Pacific, and general manager of LVS Service Parts.
Aghili holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Teesside Polytechnic in Middlesbrough, U.K., a post-graduate diploma in business administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW in Melbourne, and a graduate diploma in international management from the INSEAD Business School of Management in Fontainebleau, France. He is fluent in Turkish, Farsi and Arabic.
