Sprint Cars Return to SSP on Thursday Night
NEWBERRYTOWN, PA (July 25, 2005) – This Thursday night, July 28 will be
the return of the Sprint Cars along with the Xtreme Stock Cars, XSC Rookie
Rumble, Legends Cars and a One-on-One Street Car Drags. Entries for the Street
Car Drags are limited to sixteen and forms are available at sspracing.net or
by calling (717) 292-1696. If needed, a rain date for this event will be
Sunday, July 31.
Gates open in the pit area and grandstands at 5:00 p.m. Warm-ups begin at
7:00 p.m. with racing beginning promptly at 7:30 p.m. Grandstand ticket
prices are Adults (18 & older) $12.00; Teens (13-17) $8.00; Children (6-12)
$4.00; and Children (5 & under) are free.
SSP will continue its Repeat Fan Discount in which there will be a $2.00
discount for each person with a ticket stub from the June 30, July 21 or July
24 events only. For example, $2.00 off an Adult ticket for July 28 with and
Adult ticket stub from the June 30, July 21 or July 24 event. Returning fans
are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of
the stub to be entered into special drawings during the season for great
prizes. Last season, the grand prize was two tickets for the October NASCAR race
at the Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina. Pit pass prices
are $20.00 with a reduced price of $18.00 for all track license holders.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles
NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information,

Time is a factor! All cars must report to the grid area on time for their
races. Late arrivals may not be permitted on the track. Please be early!
SSP News and Notes:
- The Super Sportsman at SSP culminates with the Inaugural 75-lap Trail
Motors Championship on Sunday, September 4, paying $2,500 to the winner. For the
championship race, there will be 12 automatic qualifiers for the event
determined by the winners of the following events: 1) Silver Spring (Sat., May 28 –
Craig Morrow); 2) SSP (Sun., May 29 – Russ Mitten); 3) SSP (Sun., June 5 –
Dave Calaman); 4) Port Royal (Wed., June 15 - Pat Cannon); 5) SSP (Sun.,
June 19 – Rich Eichelberger); 6) Williams Grove (Fri., June 24 – Danny
Hager); 7) Silver Spring (Sat., July 2 – Billy Schoffstall); 8) SSP (Sun., July 3 –
Frankie Herr); 9) Lincoln (Wed., July 20 – Carmen Perigo Jr.); 10) SSP
(Sun., July 24 – Gregg Foster); 11) SSP (Sun., Aug. 7); 12) SSP (Sun., Aug. 21).
The remainder of the field for the championship will qualify through heats
and a last chance race. All Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series events at SSP
will require the use of Hoosier Tires on all four corners with a Hoosier
105/18-15 plated (HTMA or HTE) right rear spec tire.
- On Thursday, August 4, the Smashmasters Demolition Derby will return to
SSP along with the Sprint Cars, Xtreme Stock Cars, the PENNMAR Vintage Club
Tour and a Mini Van Novelty Race. Demolition Derby entry forms and rules may
be obtained by calling 717-292-1696.
- The next Sunday night event will be August 7 with Camera and Autograph
Night featuring the Trail Motors Super Sportsman Series along with the Silver
Spring Street Stocks,Four Cylinders and a Road Warrior Construction Race. All
fans will have the opportunity to meet their favorite drivers with their cars
on the frontstretch before the feature events.
