CLEMONS, MARTZ SCORE WEEKEND MIDWEST FOCUS WINS; SPECIAL EVENT SCHEDULED AT
BELLEVILLE

Hoosiers Tate Martz of Rushville and Josh Clemons of Greenfield increased
their career win totals over the weekend with one victory apiece in the USAC
Midwest Ford Focus Midget Car Series.

Clemons, in the No. 71 Clemons Hauling Kenyon/Ford Focus, scored a
wire-to-wire victory in Friday’s 30-lapper at Hawkeye Downs Speedway in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Clemons held off Martz, Stephanie Mockler, Kyle Robbins
and Derek Fisher in his first victory on the quarter-mile track, third
Midwest win of the season and eighth of any Ford Focus feature in his
career.

Martz, in the No. 1 Beast/Ford Focus owned by Greg Steele, denied Clemons a
second straight victory Sunday when he took the lead on Lap 13 at Angell
Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wis. From there, he was never headed on his
way to his fifth Midwest triumph of the season and first on dirt, beating
Clemons, Brandon Hartsell, Ronnie Wuerdeman and Robbie Ray. Martz now leads
Mockler by 101 points heading into the Aug. 7 race at the Kokomo (Ind.)
Speedway.

A special non-points event has been scheduled for Thursday at the Belleville
(Kan.) High Banks quarter-mile. Midwest and Oklahoma regions expect to be
represented.
