KUHN, MACLEOD WIN SPEEDROME RACES; RAIN TAKES OVER KENYON MIDGET FEATURE
Brad Kuhn of Avon, Ind. and Canadian Alison MacLeod of Toronto scored 50-lap
feature victories in the “Thursday Night Thunder” series last week at the
Blossom Chevrolet Indianapolis Speedrome.
Kuhn, who leads the USAC Regional Midget Car Series points standings, took
another step toward winning the season-long championship with his third
victory at the 1/5-mile paved oval in 2005. Kuhn overhauled Chris Manifold
on Lap 18 of the 50-lap feature and led the rest of the way in the No. 74
Steve Kuhn Sander Engineering/K&N Filters Beast/Ford ahead of Nick Bohanon,
Travis Young, Joe Liguori and Manifold, who led the opening 17 laps.
MacLeod, who recently turned 16, led flag-to-flag in Thursday’s 50-lap
feature, driving the No. 4 East owned Beast. MacLeod, who became USAC’s
second female Ford Focus feature victor (Stephanie Mockler) at the track,
was trailed by Kevin Studley, Josh Clemons, Nick Hansen and Jimmy Light.
Rain interrupted the USAC Kenyon Midget Car Series feature after 21 laps.
Two features will be contested this Thursday, with a short feature to be run
first and a full program to follow. Both features will award points.
