LINCOLN & BELLEVILLE PRESENT CHALLENGE
FOR WESTERN MIDGET POINT LEADERS
This week's races at Lincoln, Neb. and Belleville, Kan. could
be pivotal in the battle for the 2005 USAC Western Midget Car Championship.
Four-time series champion Robby Flock of Murrieta, Calif.
holds a 55-point lead over Garrett Hansen of Manhattan Beach, Calif. with a
total of 216 points up for grabs in the Tuesday, Friday and Saturday events,
Tuesday's Pepsi "Mid-Summer Classic" at Eagle Raceway in
Lincoln concludes with a 40-lap feature, while a 25-lap feature is on tap
Friday at the Belleville High Banks and a 40-lap finale concludes the
$72,000 28th Bud Racing "Belleville Midget Nationals" Saturday night.
Davey Ray won last year's Lincoln race, while Bobby East swept
the 2004 Belleville features on the 1/2-mile dirt oval.
