Breakthrough Automotive Hard Drive to Be Debuted at San Jose Grand Prix by Company's Own Engineer and USTCC Race Leader

WHAT: Seagate's recently announced, breakthrough automotive hard
drive (EE25 Series) will make its first on-road appearance at
the San Jose Grand Prix in a car driven by Dave Brown, the USTCC
championship points leader. Brown is also a Seagate engineer.

The automotive hard drive is designed to withstand extreme
temperatures (-30 degrees to 85 degrees C) as well as high
altitude, extreme humidity and other conditions that would cause
lesser drives to freeze up, overheat, and fail in the mission of
delivering new digital services to automobiles. The EE25 Series
is also designed to withstand the constant vibration of an
automobile, while streaming navigation, entertainment and other
data services. With 20GB, 30GB and 40GB capacities, the drives
will bring high-quality AV entertainment services and DVD-free
GPS to the car. The EE25 Series hard drive and data system in
Brown's 2002 JDM Acura Integra Type-R Car will be equipped with
accelerometers and thermocouples to monitor both the car's
handling for analysis by Brown's race team, and the hard drive's
performance under shock, vibration and temperature extremes
during the race to provide Seagate engineers with "real life"
            data.

WHEN: The Taylor Woddrow Grand Prix of San Jose runs July 29 - 31.
USTCC race featuring Dave Brown and the Seagate EE25 Series hard
drive for extreme environments will be featured on July 30 at
            5:30 pm.
