City of Bloomington Employees Night

Sprint Cars - O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept Modifieds - Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks

BLOOMINGTON, IN (July 24) - On July 29, the City of Bloomington's employees will be joining us for an evening of the best racing anywhere.

With the problems that we've had with the weatherman each program takes on added importance where the point races are concerned. The competitors will be pulling out all of the stops each Friday night not only for that night's prize money but also to improve their share of the big year end prize fund.

Some of the best racers anywhere compete just about every Friday night on the red clay of Bloomington Speedway, The points leaders now are Kevin Briscoe, Jesse Cramer, and Danny Harris. However, the points races are all tight; and they'll all be up for grabs when the gates open on July 29.

Bloomington Speedway will feature sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds, and Tire and Wheel Center super stocks. All three classes typically show up in force every Friday night. The full pits that are a trademark of Bloomington Speedway insure a lot of racing. A typical program includes 12 heat races, 3 B features, and 3 features. At some tracks, a program like that could run to the wee hours of the morning. However, Mike Miles and his able staff do everything in their power to keep the program moving. And, the competitors know that when it's their time to race, they'd better be in the staging area and ready to go. Consequently, most are there when they need to be.

Pit gates will open at 4:30 PM, the grandstand gates will open at 5:30 PM, hot laps will start at 6:30 PM, and racing will begin at 7:30 PM. General admission is $10 for this event (children are admitted free to the grandstand when accompanied by a paying adult); and pit admission is $20. Coolers are permitted; but glass containers aren't. Overnight camping is also permitted.

SOUTH CENTRAL BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION TRADES COUNCIL NIGHT

TIRE & WHEEL CENTER SUPER STOCK RACERS APPRECIATION NIGHT

AUGUST 5, 2005

AT BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY

BLOOMINGTON, IN (July 24, 2005) - Bloomington Speedway will host another night of exciting racing action on Friday, August 5. The evening's racing will feature sprint cars, O'Neal Wood Products modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center super stocks.

Joining us on August 5 will be members of the South Central Building & Construction Trades Council. These guys work hard for their money; and they expect value for it. They know that they get that value at Bloomington Speedway.

August 5 will also be Tire & Wheel Center Super Stock Racers' Appreciation Night. The super stock racers will be running for extra prize money on August 5. Their feature will pay $750 to win with proper decals. Mike Miles appreciates the loyalty of our competitors who enable us to bring a great racing program to our fans each Friday night. There is no increase in the admission charge in either the grandstand or the pits for this special show.

We expect the pits to be filled to overflowing with Tire & Wheel Center super stock teams attempting to pick up the extra prize money. There should also be plenty of sprint cars and O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modifieds. This will give the fans more of what they come to Bloomington Speedway to see - GREAT RACING.

There will be only three more sprint car points races after the August 5 race. Kevin Briscoe holds a slim 11 point edge over Jon Sciscoe and only one more over Kent Christian. That makes this one of the tightest sprint car points races that we've had in some time. Because of the participation of many of our sponsors, each position in the points races is worth more money. Those at the top of the points standing will be doing everything possible improve their position or, at the very least, hold onto the one they have.

In the O'Neal Wood Products/Monroe County Pizza Dept. modified division only 82 points separate the top five drivers (Jesse Cramer, John DeMoss, Gary Barrow, Shelby Miles, and Clint DeMoss. Any of them are capable of making a charge to win the championship. And, of course, all of the competitors have the opportunity to improve their positions in the points races and their year end points awards..

In the Tire & Wheel Center super stock division Danny Harris holds an 11 point lead over Jeremy Hines. However, only 28 points separate the top five competitors. Last year's Tire & Wheel Center super stock champion, Ben DuBois is only twenty-one points back; and he would very much like to repeat as champion. On August 5, these guys along with all of the other Tire & Wheel Center super stock racers are expected to be on hand to pick up the points along with the extra prize money.

Because performance at Bloomington Speedway such a good measure of a racer's performance, a Bloomington Speedway championship is one of the most coveted in the area. Don't miss the next battles in the wars for Bloomington Speedway championships.
