Tony Pedregon Grabs Seventh Slot
ŒQ¹ Racing Solid During Seattle Qualifying
KENT, Wash. (July 22, 2005) Tony Pedregon qualified his ŒQ¹ Racing Nitro
Funny Car in the top half of the field taking the seventh position for this
weekend¹s CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at Pacific Raceways. Pedregon
logged a 4.806-second elapsed time at 318.62 mph¹
The California native talked about what he expects during tomorrow¹s
eliminations.
³Unfortunately we had trouble with a plug nozzle during the first run of the
day,² commented Pedregon. ³But we got the problem resolved and afterwards
decided to put on a conservative run.
³The ŒQ¹ Racing team is very glad we qualified in the top half of the field
and feel good about our chances for tomorrow. I feel that this team has had
the performance, and now we are pairing it up with consistency as well. I
want to say that the ŒQ¹ oil has proven that it can carry us through at a
mile high or at sea level. It is nice to know you can have total confidence
in a product.²
Pedregon will face qualifier No. 10, Tim Wilkerson, during the first round
of Sunday¹s eliminations.
