Cruz Pedregon Grabs 11th on Friday
Driver Prepares For Saturday Qualifying

KENT, Wash. (July 22, 2005) ­ Cruz Pedregon and the Advance Auto Parts Nitro
Funny Car completed the first two rounds at Pacific Raceways today
qualifying in the 11th spot.

Pedregon recorded a solid 4.971-second elapsed time at 277.94 mph during the
first pass of the day. The California resident is pleased that todayıs
qualifying pass beat last yearıs effort of 5.031 seconds.

³Todayıs conditions at Pacific Raceways were very different from last year,²
said Pedregon. ³We ran more conservatively than necessary to make sure we
made it down the track and gather as much data as possible.

³Weıll try to move up the qualifying field tomorrow, but the goal is to be
in Sundayıs eliminations. Wes Cerny (crew chief) and the Advance Auto Parts
team are looking forward seeing all their hard work pay off.²
