reen, Crosby qualify for Salute to the Troops 250

Fountain, Co. – Mark Green and Kim Crosby qualified for the Salute to the Troops 250 at Pikes Peak International Raceway on Friday afternoon.

Green qualified 27th with a time of 27.451 seconds on the one-mile oval for an average speed of 131.143 miles per hour. Crosby will start in 37th position after she completed her lap in 27.748 seconds at 129.739 miles per hour. Clint Bowyer took the pole with time of 26.944 seconds at 133.610 miles per hour.

“The crew did a great job,” said Green. “It drove really well and I felt comfortable on the track.”

Crosby made a large improvement over her practice time, picking up more than 1.5 seconds over her best lap in the final practice.

“It drove like it was on a rail,” said Crosby. “I’ve to give credit to the crew because we were loose all through practice and they kept working on it until they figured it out.”

“Kim did a great job,” said crew chief Wayne Hatfield. “We knew exactly what it was going to take to get her in the show and she went out there and did it. All the pressure was on her and she came through like a veteran.”

The 250-lap race will air on TNT at 3:30 p.m. eastern time on Saturday.
