Cat Lift Trucks Boosts Local Students' Education; Cat Lift Trucks Awards Three Scholarships in Support of Local Community

HOUSTON--July 22, 2005--Three local high school graduates received a $1,000 scholarship from Cat Lift Trucks, as part of its 2005 scholarship program at an awards reception held at the Cat Lift Trucks headquarters in Houston, Texas.

"Cat Lift Trucks was pleased to select three outstanding, deserving students from an overwhelming number of qualified applicants, each of whom has demonstrated excellent leadership skills, impressive scholastic achievements and who share in our commitment to serve our local communities," said Don Henn, MCFA director of dealer services.

The 2005 Cat Lift Trucks scholarship winners are:

-- Emily Fortuna, James E. Taylor High School, Katy, TX

-- Jason Fochtman, Kingwood High School, Kingwood, TX

-- Bruce Jaynes, B.F. Terry High School, Rosenberg, TX

Fochtman and Jaynes plan to major in mechanical engineering and will attend Texas Christian University and Texas A&M University in the fall, respectively. Fortuna plans to attend Rice University where she will major in computer science.

More than 330 students from an eight county area submitted applications to Cat Lift Trucks, which began the scholarship program in honor of the 2005 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo(TM). Eligibility requirements included academic standing, college/university enrollment plans, community involvement, and demonstration of leadership and character.
