Sloan wins again, moves closer to points leader
Jimmy Sloan, 23, Palm Desert, Calif. took another win in the Irwindale
Speedway Super Stock race Saturday night.
Sloan qualified first but started second due to the invert. He pulled ahead
at the start and lead all forty laps of the race.
This is Sloan's third win of the season. He has finished in the top ten in
every race this season.
"I am so excited about winning again," Sloan said. "My crew is amazing and
my car is so good right now. It's great to drive."
Sloan missed breaking the track record in qualifying by 0.081 seconds.
This is also Sloan third best time qualifying effort of the season.
Sloan gained another ten points on the points leader, Robin
Bourgeois, cutting his lead in
half. Sloan is currently ten points from being the leader.
"I continue to be impressed with Jimmy," said car owner George Ruark. "The
crew is doing an excellent job keeping his car so good and he is driving
very well."
Sloan will race the Scott Ruder Lending Super Stock again July 30 at
Irwindale Speedway. There are five more Super Stock races at Irwindale this
