Pylon Primetime In Packwood:

The Tire Rack(r) SCCA Solo Tour Set For Round 10

TOPEKA, Kan. (July 21, 2005) - If The Tire Rack(r) SCCA Solo National
Championship hopefuls didn't feel the time crunch a few weeks ago, there
is no escaping it now as just two The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour
events remain before September's Championship event in Topeka, including
this weekend's Round 10 tilt in Packwood, Wash.

More than 200 Soloists are entered for Round 10, including a handful who
have won championships in the past and are well aware that each run they
turn between now and September could mean the difference between
hoisting another crown or losing it.

Scotty B. White, of Puyallup Washington, won his first, and only,
championship in 2003 in Street Modified 2. He's in A Street Prepared
this weekend in his GTS/ACR/KUMHO/NayKid Racing 2001 Dodge Viper, a
class in which White competed in seven of his first nine years (1994-97,
2000-02) of Solo Nationals (his best finish a fourth in 2000).

A pair of former champs and a runner-up frontline B Stock this weekend
as 1990 F Stock winner G.H. Sharp, of Kernersville, N.C., 2003 D Stock
winner Ron Bauer, of Renton, Wash., and 2001 A Stock second-place
finisher Joe Goeke, of Kirkland, Wash., will all be on hand for the
tenth round. Ralph Elder, of Folsom, Calif., finished on the
championship podium (third) in F Prepared in 2002, meaning half of this
event's B Stock field has done so.

Former champions aren't the only draw in Packwood. In the 20-strong
Street Modified class, an impressive range of models, ranging from the
AR Engineering 1968 Plymouth Valiant driven by Tim Werner, of
Beavercreek, Ore., to the 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi driven by Brian
Kesselman, of Portland, Ore., will be on hand.

Aside from those rides, also represented in the class will be Ford
Mustangs, Eagle Talons, Volkswagens, Hondas, Audis, Mazdas, Nissans and
BMWs; giving the Packwood Tour edition of Street Mod. a truly special,
global feel.

The Tire Rack SCCA Solo National Tour action in Packwood is set with the
first of five heats to begin competition on Saturday at 9 a.m. at the
Hampton Lumber Mill. Sunday will start at 8 a.m., with an awards
presentation taking place at 4:30 p.m., upon the completion of Heat 5.
All times are Pacific.
