5square CEO an Entrepreneur of the Year; San Fernando Valley Business Journal Honors Yuri Pikover

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif.--July 21, 2005--5square Systems Corporation today announced that its chairman and CEO, Yuri Pikover, was honored by The San Fernando Valley Business Journal at its Ninth Anniversary Reception celebrating Small Business Entrepreneurs.

"We're changing the way people buy and sell cars," said Mr. Pikover. "Today, on average, it takes more than three hours to buy a car in an American dealership. The dealerships using our DealSnap system are helping their customers do it in less than an hour. That's because DealSnap manages the entire process as a single flow of information. It automates the industry's best practices within each store, letting the owners and managers ensure efficient, profitable, ethical operation."

Mr. Pikover has been instrumental in a series of Southern California tech companies. In 1993 he co-founded Calabasas-based Xylan Corporation, which invented network-wide switching technology and grew to over $300 million in revenues in four years. Xylan was sold to Alcatel for $2 billion in 1999. Mr. Pikover then moved on to be CEO of Access 360, based in Orange County, which pioneered automated organization-wide access control, and which was sold to IBM in the depths of the tech downturn.

Now, at 5square Systems in Westlake Village, he's leading a revolution in IT support for automotive dealerships.

DealSnap and DealerView from 5square comprise the first completely integrated sales system for automotive dealerships. They manage the entire process of selling a car -- including CRM, showroom control, desking, F&I, and inventory -- as a single flow of information. Nothing is ever re-keyed, and everything is easily available at each step of the process, cutting transaction time in half. This dramatically increases customer satisfaction and improves sales processes, yielding higher closing ratios and increasing gross revenue per car. The system also cuts marketing costs by automating follow-up and other tasks. And it lets dealership management focus on front-end and back-end sales, instead of redundant administration tasks.
