AIAG AutoTech 2005 Educational Sessions Spotlight Automotive Best Practices to Improve Supply Chain Performance
Industry Guidelines, Standards and Collaboration Emphasized
DETROIT, July 21 -- AIAG AutoTech 2005, the most relevant conference in the automotive industry, will feature a robust program of educational sessions on best practices, guidelines, standards and industry collaboration to reduce cost and complexity, and improve quality and efficiency throughout the supply chain. AIAG AutoTech 2005 will run Aug. 29 - Sept. 1, 2005, at Detroit's Cobo Conference Center.

More than 70 educational sessions in five broad areas will center on OEM requirements, collaborative engineering, electronic commerce, supply chain initiatives and automatic identification, and quality. Spread over Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, technical and managerial sessions will inform attendees about ideas, plans, perspectives, technologies and tools for streamlining the automotive industry:
* OEM - DaimlerChrysler Corp., Ford Motor Co., General Motors Corp., Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. and Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc. will discuss next steps, upcoming programs, changing requirements, supply chain standards and global business outlooks.
* Collaborative Engineering - Key sessions include engineering change management, metrology interoperability and OEM updates on CAD/CAM/CAE/PDM.
* Electronic Commerce - Topics include service oriented architecture (SOA) convergence, early warning standards and inventory visibility & interoperability.
* Supply Chain Initiatives and Automatic Identification - Sessions will include TREAD Act reporting, early warning standards, crisis management and business continuity planning and radio frequency identification (RFID).
* Quality - Case studies and best practices will provide insight into implementing ISO/TS 16949:2002. Leading sessions will focus on customer specifics, Statistical Process Control (SPC) Second Edition, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Fourth Edition and more.
